Excellent Blog Nick! I was using a similar technique to get links using the google blog search, except I placed the keyword in parenthesis at the end of the search term and it worked well.
Actually this is how I found your site. It came up number 1 for the term “keyword”
The only problem with this search technique is that many blog owners have changed the settings after google indexed the blog sites.
I have read a lot of this site and I can tell you from the class of hard knocks everything I read is 100% acurate. Way to Go!!!
I am actually impressed!

Nick, I’m not sure how these work. Take the first one; they create internal links which redirect to your site and don’t give you a direct link (follow or no-follow) at all. Have these guys changed since your post?
I got things have changed since I wrote this post. It is possibly out of date.
I guess that even if the blog listing websites don’t provide incoming links for your site they may still be useful in assisting to generate traffic there?
I wouldn’t expect to get too much traffic from blog listing websites. There are so many of them and I’m not sure how much credence Google gives them.
