It’s a great way to get traffic.
But honestly it’s a pain submitting your site to so many places.
Much of this pain is removed using onlywire.com

I'm right in the middle of the process of signing up to Onlywire. Thanks for letting me know about it. I had never heard of it before.
I do have a question for you though. When and how often should you submit your blog to Onlywire. Every time you make a post would seem like the right time but is it OK to keep submitting your own blog to all the social bookmarking sites?

Every time I make a new post I submit it to onlywire. So that's 1 submission every couple days. And I never submit the same post twice.
Nick the video was removed why? TOS violation that is pretty stupid i see videos all the time showing viacom content that never gets removed but a video you made is removed. Stupid youtube screw those scam artist.
Holy cow I had no idea it was removed. I wonder why.
I made the video on my own computer and there is no reason why it should have been removed. Perhaps I will make a new one and resubmit it to YouTube.

YouTube has temporarily suspended my account. I'm not sure why they have done this but it makes me hesitant to upload videos in the future if they're just going to suspend my account.

Quick question though: Do I need to manually create an account with those social media sites, or is one created automatically when you configure the plugin options on Wordpress?

As far as I know you have to make an account with each service which is a pain. But once you have the accounts created everything else is super easy.
What kind of traffic boost do you get on average from a bookmarking submit?
My understanding is that there are various bookmarking sites that make it easy for us to collect our categorized links to our favorite sites online. The primary aim being to help us easily access our favorite sites and potentially recommend them to others.
So isn't it spamming when we submit our every post of a blog to a multitude of bookmarking sites? Remembering that our post will have been already pinged to the blogosphere.

Every time I tweet a link to a blog post to my twitter account to I receive between 20 and 40 visits to my blog. I don't have any metrics for other social bookmarking services that I use.
I don't consider expanding to submit your new blog post to social bookmarking services because many of them won't have a link to your new blog post via pinging. Just because my blog automatically pinging some services doesn't mean it's going to be submitted to digg, stumble upon, etc.
Can you pick the sites you want to post to? I'd like to leave Facebook out because most of the people there are my personal friends.
The service allows you to submit your site to 30 social bookmarking sites and you can choose to omit or skip ones if you like.
Alot of people use this for autoblogs i think it might work.

To be honest I'm skeptical how well autoblogs are going to work long-term. Pretty soon everyone is going to do this and it's going to lose it to its effectiveness.

I thought your video was very good and you answered the questions great. I have been using Onlywire for about two years–started when it only had 15 social sites available. I submit every blog post placed on our family dentistry and cosmetic dentistry website to Onlywire as well as pinging them. Some of these sites will give you some backlinks and others don't, but they all give you exposure. One thing that I have found is that submissions don't always go through the first time with every site you have chosen–so be sure to hit the "Resend" button on those that fail. Sometimes you may have to resend 2-3 times, but eventually they usually go through. I was banned from Mixx for submitting what they termed blatant advertising, which I never understood. I wrote them several times and never got an explanation for the ban or how to reinstate and avoid it. I checked other posts on Mixx that were pure advertisements that were still being accepted. I actually really liked Mixx and it was one of the few social sites where I interacted with followers. Maybe they decided they just don't like dentists?? If this happens to anyone else, don't worry about it because there are many other good sites on Onlywire's list that will still be accepting your blog posts. The only pain is the initial setup of each social site complete with a password. Your readers will find its overall use very easy.

I followed your instructions and downloaded the plugin to Firefox but was wondering why you suggested Firefox because I also noticed it was available for Explorer. Was there a specific reason? I set up an account and had just linked my Facebook pages but it did not work. When I click on Bookmarking nothing happens on my end. It does not work for me.

Firefox has loads of plugins so I prefer Firefox. I cannot say why it didn’t work for you. It could be a version problem.

It can be used on any blogging platform.
onlywire is best social pump i have ever seen but it is not free for hard users who want to send more than 300 posts/month . Of course it supports free accounts with a limited number of posts. They says: “You can still use OnlyWire for FREE – up to 300 submissions per month. To maintain a free OnlyWire account you simply need to promote us on your website or blog and Facebook page.” . We need to promote it to maintain… But onlywire seems still better than the other social pumps systems.

Hey, this all sounds well and good but if its sharing it 30 odd times will google not see this as spamming? Also how effective is submitting something 30 odd times with exactly the same words and tags in the post? Would it not be more effective to just have an hour copy and pasting a general description and tweaking it slightly every few posts?
I don’t see a ton of difference. When something goes viral it’s shared on lots of social networks the same wording.
Hey Nick. Great source here…I will definitely be trying it out. I see they offer a paid service but I don’t anticipate more than the 300 limit they have. Keep the good posts and vids coming!
