Personally, I don't really bother submitting to free directories anymore. I find my time is much better spent building new content for my blog and using social media to get traffic.

thanks for the tip with the edu sites – I always had difficulties on identifying which the best ones. Your negative search crriteria are a big help in solving this for me.

Regarding the free directories i found that it sometimes takes ages to get listed. At what intervalls do you think a resubmit should be considered?

I don't know of the title attribute of the link really does much. But WordPress seems to set them automatically so I don't think about it too much.

As for internal linking, I think it is somewhat helpful to point. It's good to link to the pages that you want Google to index.

Have you any views on the title attribute of a link? Does that help with SEO at all? Also, do internal links do anything for us — these being most under our control.

Thank you for a great article on getting links to your website. I'm going to focus much more on this in the coming months. It has always been something I didn't want to bother with!
