My blog is primarily focused on traffic generation. I want to write about more things related to Internet Marketing and have considered changing the focus of my blog to Internet Marketing.
I have 2 options and I would like your thoughts.
Option 1: Change the focus to Internet Marketing
If I changed the focus of my blog to Internet Marketing it would all cover topics associated with running an online business including:
- How to get traffic
- How to advertise online and offline
- How build a product
- How to a sales page
- How to create sales funnel
- How to make money online
- How to do market research
- How to do keyword research
- How to process payments
- And many more
Option 2: Keep the focus on Traffic and make a new blog for Internet Marketing
The other option is to leave this blog focused on Traffic Generation and create a new blog to cover the wide variety of Internet Marketing Topics.
I would continue to post traffic related things here while I build up the new blog on Internet Marketing.
What would better serve you?
My goal with this blog is to provide value to you and cater to your needs. So I need to know how to best serve you.

I would suggest rather than totally changing the focus and abandoning Traffic building, that you simply expand and create an Internet Marketing series – with a traffic component. You could create lots of related series blogging/content writing tips, social media, etc…the possibilities are endless that’s why I love the internet. You don’t need to create a whole knew blog – this one is great, there’s no reason why you can’t add to it. Expansion is good!
I wish you the best!
Nick, I found think blog originally because of you tips on traffic, but my interest in in the whole Internet Marketing space. Frankly traffic is part of that, but fits within the context of IM — you want the right traffic, right. I would widen the scope and keep one blog rather than start another. (My own, much more modest efforts range all over the place with whatever takes my fancy.)
Of course, this may have implications for the name, and I could see why you might want to migrate to a more generic URL.
Hi Nick
I would personally prefer option 2.
I love the fact that this site is wholly dedicated to traffic generation, but I would also be interested in what you have to say on IM
Regards
@CreateFirstSite
I suggest the first option. Just don’t forget about the traffic generation as that is a big deal.
Keep the great tips coming.
Thanks
Lambert
I prefer option 2. It will give you a wider scope for new prospects and online presence!
Nick,
In my opinion, you should go for option 2. Here is why. I found you site after I googled and checked out your site and found the topic that I was looking for. It is about traffic. And your site contains the keyword traffic. If you have the website domain name “internet marketing” then the traffic is the subtopic of the internet marketing. So it is not SEO friendly. You may lose your readership because there is no more interesting article related to what they looking for. They already know what you had to say. There is no benefit for them to come back to your site. There is no new readers coming to your site unless they search the keyword related to your internet marketing articles, not traffic keyword.
That is just my two cent.
I think this is a very cool blog. Ive learned so much. I tend to agree with Kiesha and incorperate Internet Marketing with this blog. As you said, Internet Marketing includes getting traffic. It seems they already go hand in hand. Thanks and please keep doing what you do.
Everything you write is so useful, so keep doing what you’re doing. You’re the ‘bees knees’ when it comes to traffic. If you’re wanting to expand the focus, you just do it how you think best, and I will follow. Thanks for sharing your valuable knowledge, Nick.
Ortion 2 for me Nick, this is far too good a site to abandon, if you can manage it, start a new blog, plus it could bring you more income, just deep link one to the other on certain points, go on mate you can do it!
Paul
Like many others, I would prefer option 2. I look forward to your insights about traffic more than any other aspect of IM.
Nick,
You are a trusted source. That means that people want to hear more from you. I say broaden the focus. There’s always more to learn. Your blog will become 1 big brainstorm. Good stuff.
Paul
I think you should stick with traffic tricks and either create a whole separate blog or just stick with what you know best. Traffic!
Option 2.
I found and came to your site looking for ways to get more traffic.
Nick I think that option 2 is better. This is one of the few sites that I feel is just right and genuine and I constantly refer back to it.
Good luck.
I think that adding to the existing concept is okay. You rank well for traffic, but you can maintain that and help us learn more about other things at the same time.
I would not attempt to build another blog.
Hey Nick,
I’d like to see you leave this blog alone and go to Option 2. I’d like to see you start a new blog from scratch on Internet Marketing and watch it grow.
Later,
Jeff Sargent
This is a great blog Nick! I would love to learn more about internet marketing from you. You provide excellent content. Thank you.
I really love your blog. It is nice to learn that you are widening your approach from traffic to internet marketing.
Hi Nick,
I would like to see you keep the emphasis on the original traffic blog. That way it will not get diluted. But I would like to see you start the other blog to cover the other topics you mentioned regarding internet marketing.
Thanks for all the practical and helpful information you provide!
Ron
I came here thru twitips (a guest post of yours). I came because the title of your blog said it all for me. Internet marketing blogs are a dime a dozen. I like the fact that this is extremely focused. Start another blog if you feel the need, but don’t change this one. Please!
Start another blog Nick and heavily link the two for us so we can click between them. I like the focus of traffic. Its the lifeblood of IM and its great not having to search in amongst all the the other posts.
This is a beaut blog so thanks.
Well, this blog seems to be somewhat of a flagship blog for the niche it is targeting, web traffic generation so I’d say keep the theme and start a whole other property to dedicate to internet marketing. You’ll still be able to leverage the authority of this blog by funneling traffic but you’ll also be able to keep things focused. You’ll be able to cover more ground in a way and build two great resources instead of just one.
First Is this Thesis theme? If so you rock
Second, keep this blog as is. It has great SEO and I bookmarked it solely on one thing…it gives me tricks on generating traffic. I would suggest a second blog (using thesis of course lol) and talk about making money blogging etc. Good luck Nick and keep up the great work!
Best regards, Nathaniel.
It sure is Thesis. It rocks.
Hi, I’m guessing this blog is already keyword optimized for ‘traffic generation’ etc and to a lesser extent ‘internet marketing’. If you change the focus of this blog wont you have to re do your keyword optimization, to reflect that change ?
In my naive opinion it would better to create a new blog for internet mkt. and optimize it accordingly.
Definitely keep it on how to gather traffic, this is a nice and helpful blog i think you would help a lot of people if you leave this on. I think you should create another site.
