Nick's Traffic Tricks

Which tweets give you most traffic? Here’s a simple way to track that

A lot of people want to get traffic from twitter but sometimes it’s difficult to track which tweets give you the most traffic.

I found a simple tool from stumble upon that allows you to track how much traffic you get from different tweets.

You can sign up for the tool for free: http://su.pr/ (To use this you will need account with stumble upon and twitter)

I started using this tool for the first time yesterday and tweeted several of my blog posts. I was surprised at which ones received more clicks and sent more traffic to my site.

You can see the results below:

What I learned

I learned that some posts are more popular than others and are more likely to be clicked on.

On this particular day the top two posts were:
6 Reasons Quality Content Receives More Traffic And Makes More Money
7 Ways To Maximize Your Google AdSense Profit

This is not scientific

Obviously there are a lot of working variables here including time of day, day of the week, and the order that I tweeted things. With that said, I still think my followers found some things a lot more useful than others.

How I will use this

I will use this information and future data that I collect to figure out what my followers really want. This will help me craft better blog posts which in turn will get me more traffic.

That is really interesting. I have always had a hit and miss relationship with Twitter, so this could really help me fine tune things.

To date I've not managed to drive a lot of traffic to my websites from Twitter so I'll be interested to know if doing a bit more research using tools like this will help. Thanks very much for the tip, I'll be certain to have a play and see what I can see.

Tweeting should come naturally. Though SEOs like us do them just for getting incoming traffic, a tweet may not even stay on the main screen for the best part of 10 minutes. NQ for this post.

Very true. I have found that 80% of my traffic from tweets come within the first 10 to 15 minutes.

Thanks Nick fot the tool. It will become convenient for us to track the traffics but what obsesses me the most is how to attract traffics to my websites, you know, the website of company, do you have any idea on that?

How do you attract traffic? Will you define your target audience is and give them precisely what they want.
