Nick,

I could not agree with you more….traffic exchanges are a waste of time and money.

I have not really ever understood how a bunch of marketers trying to sell something in their own rite…were going to buy from another marketer. I think sometimes this is a little piece of the darkside of the internet. Traffic exchanges are free and the new people with 0 money use them in hopes of obtaining some exposure. I can make this statement with experience behind me.

Thanks for the vid.

Cheers,

Peggy

Thanks Peggy. In my experience traffic exchanges are a waste. It's good to get the word out.

Does google adsense not allow this? Because with a few clicks you could easily make that money back if your had the right keywords.

In order to make money with the AdSense you need to select keywords and topics that make a lot of money. Those are usually fairly specific.

An example keyword is "Web hosting". Now if I'd done everything right in the only send targeted traffic to my website I might get a click through rate somewhere between 1% and 20%.

If I used a traffic change to send untargeted traffic that click through rate would drop dramatically. We're talking something like 0.001%. Perhaps 1 in 100,000 people would click the add.

Targeted traffic to your website is what you want.

Google does not allow this kind of traffic.

I also had a bad experience with Traffic Exchanges. My tests showed that they were virtually useless. The only thing that they are good for is if you are the owner and using it to build your list of people looking for traffic.

What do you mean by Google does not allow this kind of traffic?

You betcha'! trading traffic does not create business opportunities, in fact its like wearing your best friend's suit to your wedding and not getting married!

That's a pretty good analogy.

What are good traffic exchange websites that you guys have had success with in getting referrals??? I would like to get at least one or two referrals every now and then. I have a blog up right now and I want to try to get traffic to it and hopefully someone will sign up!! =)

When a person sign ups under your link do you get a mail saying some one signed up?? How do you know that someone has signed up as your referral??
