SEO is so unfair at times. It pretty much says who gets the most links to there website gets the money. Also i dont like google having a monopoly. I rather see more niche search engines taking over because google is to powerfull and has been known to censor thing they dont like.

SEO is in many ways completely out of your control. So don't do SEO. Forget about a SEO and do something more productive. Google has somewhat of a monopoly in the search engine market but they don't have a monopoly on traffic generation. In fact there are more ways to generate traffic now than ever before.
Build great content and use social media to get traffic.
This really is a thought out of the box, i want to change the way i am doing now, too. But does it matter much while most of our customer still search what they need on Google, not social media/network?
It depends. Some people ask their friends on Twitter/Facebook for advice on the best products.
