Facebook is one of the Most Popular and Widely Used Social Networking sites and hence is being used by webmasters as a marketing tool. Lots of people know it but they usually for some XYZ reason can’t get traffic to their Site.
I consider Facebook traffic more targetted than StumbleUpon and Reddit Traffic.
I personally Get 50 -60 Visitors a Day from Facebook with a Bounce rate below 60%.

As you can see from the above screen shot that Facebook is in my Top ten traffic sources and is located and number 4.
I will show you some methods to Drive Traffic from Facebook.
Use Fan pages
Using Fan pages will dynamically increase your Traffic from Facebook only if you have lots of fans and which is very easy to get. You can invite people from your email list and blog to join your Fan page. Once your Fans cross the mark of 1,000 you will get lots of traffic from it.
Facebook sharing button
It can be added in a similar manner like you add a retweet button. Facebook sharing buttons are an easy way to share your Blog articles with your friends. A facebook share button will look similarly to the one below
Interconnecting Twitter with facebook for better productivity:
As we know that Twitter is a social networking and microblogging service that enables its users to send and read messages known as tweets. We can connect twitter with Facebook for better productivity. This means that whenever you share something on Facebook it will automatically go to Twitter.
To connect Facebook with twitter follow these steps:
- Log in to your Facebook account
- Go to http://apps.facebook.com/twitter/
- Add the ‘Twitter’ Facebook Application.
- Choose your preferred settings and click on”Add twitter”
- Now log into your twitter account
- Allow and Authorize Access for Twitter to Facebook.
That’s all! Every time you update your Twitter, your Facebook status will update automatically.
Use Facebook Networked Blog application
Networked blogs have the ability to pull up feeds from your blogs once you have at least 10 members on your blog network.
It equips the ability to autopost from multiple blogs to your Facebook Page too!
If you have not included your blog there then add your blog and ask your friends to join and see the traffic burst:

Notes application is one of popular applications on Facebook. Through the notes application you can import entire Feed from your blog so your friends can read them either through link sharing or by tagging them.

I have never really seen Facebook as networking tool for websites. For me it has always been a personal thing I don't like to idea of mixing them.

I always had the same apprehension. I think a minute try using Facebook fan of pages to drive traffic to my website.
I believe getting traffic from Facebook is very challenging and there are many other better ways to invest your time. Like, you can build relationship with other members in stumbleupon/digg and you will get much better result.
Getting traffic from Facebook is a different ballgame and can be difficult but if you do it right it can be a great source of traffic.
So THAT is how some of my facebook contacts do it. Thanks for the "connect Facebook to Twitter" tip. I always thought they did it separately; a two-step process if you will.

Thanks so much for your post. I used to find fan pages so hard. I used to be scared of trying to make them look good. Then I found out their not that bad when you know how.
