I think she's bob on. I'm focusing more and more on the phrases which people are actually searching on when writing these days. I'm may mean a little tweak or two, but the difference can be near an order of magnitude between search volumes for seemingly similar phases.
That was well presented. The info and steps to implement were clear. Good find Nick and thanx for the continued effort to provide quality/usable info on your site.

Okay, I didn't really use this idea quite as described by Erica. I used it to come up with the title and to then set the tone of my most recent blog post: http://www.citrustechnology.com/blog/database-mar…
I wanted to do this research anyway, but I used Erica's ideas to refine the pitch. I really wanted to go with something like "Top 10 databases", but "Database market share" is searched for 10 times as often, so I'm trying that over a more "traditional" blog headline. As it happens, "Database market" is searched for even more often, but as Erica points out, competition also climbs quickly.
What I like about this though is that the post is less likely to age and will hopefully drive traffic for a little while (and I can also update it in 6 months say).
Although a tiltle like Database Market Share is searched more often, dont forget that people get attracted by lists. Just think of what you see in teh right hand column of this site:
300 Traffic Tips – Traffic 101
11 Ways To Get Indexed By Google Super Fast And Start Building Backlinks
10 Ways To Get More Traffic From Twitter
and all the other valuable lists he has created. They attract new and current visitors.
Thanks Nick and Erica. Who said the best things come in small packages? Your 4-minute video has given away more useful information than some of the latest 30-45-minute pre-launch videos I've watched.
Love this. The question I have is, can you add words to the key word phrase and still have it be as valuable. For example. I did a blog on the phrase Gospel singing. But I entitled it Gospel singing- learn from them. Is this the same value as the original phrase?
Fantastic post! It’s something I need to work on, social media and networking sites. I’ll add that to the list, along with directory submitting and article marketing for backlinks. Blogging is hard work.
That was a great video. I think finding the low competition keywords is a big step in getting lots of traffic. Many people will not even target searches that get below 400 global searches per month, but even if you can get around 5-10 visitors per day from one keyword if you do this exact method over and over again you would only need to write a hundred or so posts and you will have a huge amount of traffic every day. Great video Nick and Erica! I'm heading out to do some keyword searches now!

Great advice! In fact I just did a search and am working on a new post now, all based on the info in the video. Talk about fast results.

I think the value will be similar but it's really hard to say without actually testing it.
That's great. I have note down the keyword tool. But the value will is similar i feel..
