Youtube is great for getting lots of traffic. When people watch videos they are more likely to click through that if they read an article.

Nick have you done any analysis on what gets people to click though — I know it's tricky since there is no link on the video, so I presume you have to guess based on views.

I don't have any hard data to be honest. It's really hard to tell.
Wonder if you could add the link to you video's notes, then of course YouTube would be listed as a referring site. Still doesn't address the response you get from your video's text (which I think you cannot possibly measure).
That is something that I've been thinking about and I think I might have found some sort of solution to track visitors from YouTube. I'll be writing a post about it when I get it all figured out.
Instead of it try spending time on promoting and optimizing one video that will save alot of your time.
I have been debating about making a video for You Tube. Now, after reading this, I am going to try it. I am not very good at technical stuff so I hope I can do this without any problems. I have never uploaded video before. Also, I wasn't sure exactly what I would talk about, but your video has become my muse. Thanks Nick.

wow nick the numbers really adds up a the end of the month…i never looked at the stats in that type of mathematic form. But if you ask me, YouTube not only brings targeted visitors to your site, but it also build creditably. Your visitors starts to like you more once they see your true personally on camera.:)

The same search engine optimization rules that apply to ranking a site also apply to a video. So having your keywords in the title of the video and its description and building back links to it are things you need to do.
