One of my readers asked:

Is Aweber really worth the cost? Should I spend money on it?  I want to use an autoresponder but I want something cheap.

You get what you pay for Nick, but totally agree why pay for something unless that cost is going to be covered by profit at some point. I have tried many of the other services & time & time again have come to the same conclusion that Aweber is by far my favorite.

Dead on, Nick. It always comes down to your personal goals and what you think is worth putting into them. If you plan on recouping your costs, then you need to have the tools that will get the job done and done well. I am still in the building my site phase of things and thanks to Aweber I now have an a newsletter sign up form that is not only beautiful and in-line with the theme of my page it is also functional because I now have built-in analytical tools on each of my pages, from one form, which puts me further along the path toward recouping my expenses. Their staff put out awesome blog entries and worthwhile tutorials. (Plus they have one quality I cherish in everything – humor)

Hi Nick,

I was thinking about this and my mathematical mind kicked into play …

To cover the $20 per month cost you need to sell a product to your list, so if your product costs $20 and your conversion ratio is 5% then you need 1 sale from your list so your list size needs to be only 20 members strong. Is that right?

But we need to have a product for sale first of all. :)

Good points Andy. You would need 20 people assuming that 100% of those 20 got the email, read it, and clicked the link.

Another thing that I think is definitely worth mentioning is that they have an awesome C.O.I. (Confirmed Opt-In) system in place that has serious flexibility on how you want to stylize it and they also have an excellent privacy policy that is easily accessible from your opt-in form. This is all good because it means the people that are actually going to view your material have to really choose to receive the newsletter (or whatever your particular campaign is designed to be) and having a privacy policy set in-place provides peace of mind for your potential subscriber as well as your own. Doing all that work on yourself would add time to your projects and simply put (as anyone with any basic financial sense could tell you) time=money on nearly any level you look at it.

I love Aweber. The features they provide helps my business in so many ways. I don't know what I would do without them.
