Andy asked,
What’s the most traffic any of your sites got in a day and how did you get that spike of traffic? If you don’t want to reveal direct numbers a % boost would be interesting to know.
Is there any good trick you can recommend to generate a spike of traffic?

Hi Nick,
thanks for taking the time to post this answer to my question.
Now I am trying to post better blog posts that people are more likely to stumble or book mark. For a new blog, I am only going to post detailed, researched posts that I think people will get a lot out of if they land on my page after a search.
Quality over quantity.
Andy
Quality over quantity is a hard lesson that I am just now beginning to understand.
My best post was about two weeks ago when I carefully researched the articles keywords and title. It went to the front page on google in hours and is still there. Not a ton of traffic daily, becuase the search term had only 1,000 searches a day, but that was the point — I wanted an easy keyword.
That's great! Could you provide us with a link?
This answer leads me to two more questions…
1 – Did you do anything specific to encourage Stumbles of that post?
2 – Did you see an increase in RSS or email subscriptions?
I didn't really do anything to encourage people to stumble to post. People just liked it and started stumbling.
Unfortunately at the time I was not tracking RSS subscriptions or how many e-mail sign-ups I got.
