A lot of things have changed in search engine optimization and social media since I first started this blog a few years ago.
Today I was looking through my first blog posts and realized that some of them have old information that is outdated and incorrect.
My goal is to clean those out this weekend so that everything on my blog is current and up-to-date.
Broken Links
There are some posts/pages that have links to old blog posts. When I remove those old blog posts the links to them will be broken. I will do my best to track down and remove broken links but I will probably miss a few of them.
If you notice any broken links please leave a comment below. Or you can send me an e-mail nickstraffictricks@gmail.com
{ 7 comments… read them below or add one }
Will do. Also Google's webmaster tools will help track down broken or missing links.
And of course there's always http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/broken-link-c…
Thanks for the plugin. I will go check it out!!
Its always good to remove outdated information, it keeps your blog nice and fresh.
Its a good idea that you are taking out outdated material but do you really want to delete your old posts? If you archive them or make a note of the outdated material you could keep that content.
There are some posts that have information that is not only outdated but is now actually incorrect. For example I have a post on how to use traffic exchanges in my opinion they are a complete waste of your time today. I believe that incorrect information is worse than no information.
Hey Nick, a little cleaning is always great, in the long run it will definitely pay off. Here is an awesome Tool I definitely recommend you checking out, it's called "Xenu Link Sleuth" it is absolutely awesome! You basically put a website in the program, and let it run, it will crawl an entire website, and give you a report of what is broken, and receives errors on it.
Let me know when you try the program out how it goes, Looking forward to hearing your experiences with it!
Till then,
Jean
Thank you for the recommendation!
