Thanks for such a quick response. I tried whois locally (UK) and didn't get the creation date for my domain using networksolutions.com. Instead they gave an age of 2007 which is possible when the domain was last moved. whois.net gave the much more accurate 2003 date when the domain name was created.

One problem seems to be that whois.net struggles with .co.uk domains.

But I have a follow-up question if I may. I'm looking for a new domain for a new offering (and I've taken a look at your page http://nickstraffictricks.com/3813_30-awesome-too….

What would be idea is to check a couple of domain ideas out and also see their ages (assuming they're not totally new). Any ideas other than manual cross-checking?
