hello nick. a traffic source that really worked for my site was yahoo answers. but i personally believe that social bookmarking sites such as facebook comes last because, first you have to build traffic using other sources and when you get alot of targeted visitors who begin to trust you, then you create a twitter or facebook page, where they can subscribe or follow you to hear more about what you have to say. Other then that, i think twitter and facebook etc is really hard to mention when you are busy trying to find other ways to build traffic to your site. [ i mean hello, social bookmarking is like building a whole different website, with the excepting of youtube,] but nobody will follow you on twitter or like you facebook page because, you didn't give them a reason to do so. Where do they know you from is the question?

now if you have a good quality content page, they wouldn't hesitate to click on that like button on twitter or facebook…you know why, because they know you from your trustful site:) hey i would follow you any day. you really offer good tips. thanks

Lol! Number 50 is cute. I would add to Number 2 that you install Comment Luv plugin on your WordPress blog and register it with Comluv.com network. Without registering, only the last blog post link will show up in.

But if you do register it, you can choose which of the last ten blog post links you want to expose on the comments.

It's a great way to get people to leave comments on your blog, and I mean within a day or two, sometimes hours! Comment Luv, baby.

I've got my web site's URL in vinyl letters place on my car's back window. White letters on the black part of the window really stands out.

It also helps to have a memorable domain name because most people would forget it by the time they got home.

@Robbe, I would probably stay away from automated link building software. Now if you are talking about software that can help make your link building faster such as finding blogs, or finding directories to submit to, then I think that's fine. But there's a fine line really between spam, and a tool that can actually be useful while remaining whitehat I like to stay on the whitehat side.
