This post is part of a my Blogs to Bookmark series.
Today I want to share with you a great blog called ProBlogger
http://www.problogger.net/
What topics are covered and who is the target audience of the blog?
This site is dedicated to helping other bloggers learn the skills of blogging, share their own experiences and promote the blogging medium.
How often do they post?
Several times a day.
Comments - are they allowed?
Comments are allowed and encouraged and posts often have literally hundreds of comments.
Design - what’s the appearance of the blog?
The blog is very active and the overall appearance is slightly cluttered looking until you realize how indepth and active the blog is and then you realize that there is a consistency and pattern to the overall design.
How fast does the site download?
The blog may take a few seconds to come up for people with slower Internet connections.
What about Advertising?
The blog is heavy into advertising which involves sponsors for the site. The advertising is in keeping with the overall site and refreshing in not being the usual run of the mill advertisers.
Navigation - is it easy to find your way around the blog?
The navigation is quite elegant given the size of the blog site – for instance, it also has a job board for bloggers. There is a great top navigation bar. The archives are clearly listed.
Age - How old is the blog?
The blog began in September 2004.
About the blogger:
The blogger is Darren Rowse who describes himself as “a full time Blogger making a living from this new and dynamic medium from blogs like Digital Photography School.”
He explains how “back in 2002 I stumbled upon an article about ‘Blogging’. I didn’t know it at the time but that moment changed my life. I know that statements like that belong on those cheesy ‘buy my book’ sites (don’t worry I’m not selling anything) but it is actually true.
Within 24 hours of reading the article I had started my own Blog - a personal blog where I’ve explored issues of Pop Culture, Spirituality and Blogging ever since. I learnt so much from the experience of that blog that I’ve since started many other blogs.”
