7 Ways To Maximize Your Google AdSense Profit

1. Correct AdSense Placement

The best place to put your AdSense blocks is high on the page and towards the left. You want it to be the first thing people see.

Another good place to put your advertisement is at the end of a blog post.  That way when someone finishes reading and wonders what to do next they will see an advertisement and are more inclined to click on it.

2. Correct AdSense Color Choice

Consider choosing colors that match your website color scheme and would make your ads blend in. Camouflaging your ads makes them more likely to be clicked.

3. No Border Around AdSense Block

Technically you can’t really remove the border but instead you make the border color the same as your background color.  This makes it look less like an ad and may result in more clicks.

4. Best AdSense Blog Size

Consider choosing larger and wider block sizes for your AdSense advertisements. My best results have come from the ‘large rectangle’ block. One of the reasons is that they are wider and it’s easier for a person to read than a narrow ad.

Be sure to test different sizes and see what works for you.

5. AdSense Showing Relevant Ads

It’s good to double check and make sure that AdSense is in fact displaying relevant ads.  If for some reason it’s not then the number of clicks you receive will be very small.

6. AdSense Section Targeting

Section targeting allows you to suggest sections of your text and HTML content that you’d like AdSense to emphasize or downplay when matching ads to your site’s content. By providing AdSense with your suggestions, you can assist it in improving your ad targeting. I recommend that only those familiar with HTML attempt to implement section targeting.

To implement section targeting, you’ll need to add a set of special HTML comment tags to your code. These tags will mark the beginning and end of whichever section(s) you’d like to emphasize or de-emphasize for ad targeting.

7. Do Not Click Your AdSense Ads

The last thing I want to mention is that you should never click on the AdSense ads on your website. Google tracks the IP address of every click and they are very quick to ban anyone who even looks like they might be trying to make a little extra money by clicking the ads.

I heard a story of a guy who had his account banned because some of his family members had thought he could make a little extra money if family members clicked on his ads.

So don’t click on your own ads and don’t ask anyone else to do either. It’s simply not worth it.
