40 Ways To Get Quality Backlinks On Demand

This is a guest post by Adam Snyder from dormroomcash.com.

Getting backlinks is very important to the overall reputation of a website but the problem is – they don’t build themselves. It doesn’t matter if you have the best content on the internet, if nobody is reading it then it is for nothing. This is why getting backlinks matters.

As a website owner it is your job to get as many quality backlinks as you possibly can because that ultimately is what will help you rise in the search engines and get your brand in front of other people.

Now I know link building is not the most fun thing in the world and the reason it is not is because website owners are doing the same things over and over again instead of diversifying their link building portfolio.

40 Ways To Get Quality Backlinks On Demand

If you do not have a pen and a piece of paper handy then you should go and get them because in this post I am going to tell you 40 ways to get quality backlinks on demand. (This list is not in any order)

  1. Write articles for article directories
  2. Submit guest posts to different blogs in your niche
  3. Answers questions on Yahoo answers
  4. Submit your site to Digg because it offers a do-follow backlink
  5. Comment on topic related blogs
  6. Create a free theme for WordPress and place your link in the footer
  7. Write a very controversial post in order to get outsiders attention
  8. Participate on forums related to your niche
  9. Ask another blogger to interview you
  10. Write articles for Squidoo, Hubpages, and Weebly
  11. Write a Wikipedia page for yourself and provide all the information needed along with a link to your site
  12. Donate to a site in exchange for a link
  13. Write a “How To” post since people love those
  14. Comment on .edu and .gov blogs since their links count for more
  15. Submit your website to a local business website
  16. Join your local commerce
  17. Create thin websites and interlink them to each other
  18. Do half price freelance pieces in exchange for a link
  19. Review a new product or service
  20. Create a post with many pictures – each picture can get you more links
  21. Create profile links on sites you are a member of
  22. Do something crazy and get the media to write about it
  23. Donate to a school under your website name – Your website will get a link because of it
  24. Get listed on Yahoo Directory (Paid)
  25. Start a Podcast and link to your website from the Itunes website
  26. Write an article for a online magazine
  27. Send out proposals to speak at events
  28. Write an article on about.com and link to your site in it
  29. Get entered into different blogging contests
  30. Sponsor a WordPress plugin in exchange for your link
  31. Write a pillar post/link bait
  32. Ask your friends to link to your website
  33. Interview the biggest bloggers – They will almost always link back to that post
  34. Submit your RSS feed to feed sites
  35. Participate in a link exchange
  36. Create a blog on Blogger.com
  37. Give away a quality ebook in exchange for a link
  38. Become a top commentator – this will result in a lot of links
  39. Submit your website to a few different blog carnivals
  40. Write irresistible posts on your own- website with a reminder to link to it

When it comes to getting backlinks there are a lot of different places to get them – As you can see. My advice if you are wanting to dominate your niche is to build backlinks from as many different places as you can because in the end variety will always help out. Now that you have a good sized list of where and how to get backlinks I highly recommend that you get out there right now and build the ultimate backlink portfolio.

And to think there are people paying for this information, and only getting half of what you offered. Thanks for the 40 ways to get backlinks. My sites rank very well on their own for about 5 or 6 months, but then some of them tend to begin the downward spiral. I just started using Unique Article Wizard, so far I have used it for 4 of my sites, and that seems to help quite a bit, but I want to make sure I am getting links from other places as well. I’ll put some of these to action and hopefully get my sites to rise a bit.

Thanks again,

Melissa

I use UAW as well and it is great. The only thing I would recommend is not to build links too fast. I have done this with some newer websites and they get sandboxed pretty quickly. Just take your time with building links.

I love article marketing, that is how I get most of my websites to rank for their specific keywords. The only thing I don’t like is that it takes a while to build up the amount of links that you need but I guess that is just part of it.

This is something that I have done for others and it works really good. I would write one on myself but I feel that I am not big enough to really fill the page with great content.

i have never seen all the backlinks tips in a post before :) i think that a backlink must be permanent. For examble top commentators widget gives you backlink for 1 month . if you stop commenting backlinks will also be stopped. For this reason i prefer quest post links and link exchanges because they are more stable.

You are right, they will be gone after 1 month but as long as you keep on posting on that website then you should have nothing to worry about. Do yourself a favor and don’t work too hard on link exchanges because at some point they will be worthless in Google’s eyes.

As far as creating a wordpress theme I would recommend that you stick with a premium theme. My advice would be to get one from Woothemes or some place like that because they have a lot of great ones.

Getting backlinks is indeed very important and quite difficult unless you follow the right steps and work hard at it. Those are some great tips that you’ve suggested, Nick. If people even follow ten of those diligently, they will surely be successful at getting a good number of backlinks to their site.

You don’t have to be an expert at getting backlinks but you do have to put in the time and that is what most people are not doing these days.

I’ve never seen such a complete list. I’ve done a few of these but not most. One word of caution about leaving links in Yahoo Answers. I was a top Yahoo contributor and one day my account was banned. So hundreds of back links were gone over night. I don’t know what happened but I suspect a competitor reported me for having a link to my site.

The problem with Yahoo answers is that you need to only answer questions that you answer on your website. For instance I talk about making money so I go straight to the personal finance questions and answer things about how to make money.

Some decent suggestions. Some easier and less time-consuming than others. I think one of the big things is to just do it and keep doing it. If you don’t continue building backlinks you start to drop or fall in ranks and popularity. It can be a bit tedious sometimes, but worth the effort in the long run.

Truem but usually the are no-follow and don’t count towards yoour ranking in Google.

You need to stop worrying about no-follow links. Even no-follow links will provide some benefit to you and that is what you should be after.

I was also under the assumption that articles don’t really do much anymore, but people seem to have such mixed ideas about it.
I do think though that a few articles from high-authority sites liks Squidoo, Ezinearticles.com or Hubpages can be useful, because Google thinks these sites are important and well-established.
B0ttom line with links seems to be, build and build and build–in some ways its the process of building the links, rather than simply the links itself, that matters most in Google’s eyes.
If you suddenly had a bijillion high PR links in 24 hours, Google would find this highly suspicious and probably penalize your site because of it. But if you built the same links over a period of a few months, you’d find yourself easily out-ranking the competition.

Adam October 6, 2011 at 1:48 pm

What you need to understand is that Google doesn’t like Copied content. What most people think is that an article directory is not as good as it once was but that is not the truth. The truth is that they are still good but you have to write better articles and more original articles to see any results.

I was able to take a brand new site to the top of Google in under 45 days using only links from article directories. I know that would not have happened if the links were not weighted that heavy.

Adam–
Wow! That’s very impressive–I take it that the campaign you describe was done after the Panda update? If so I’ll have to check out articles for myself again. I’ve heard such tremendously mixed ideas–some say they’re not good whatsoever, others says they’re very good, some say the truth is somewhere in the middle.
What you say does suggest to me though that the days of article spinning (even ones that are only semi-automated and actually work) are probably over, and if that’s the case, then churning out enough articles to get to the top of Google seems like a bit of a challenge.

I’m a small business owner and online is extremely competitive with my particular market…..I’m up at ungodly hours trying to work on my website and improve its rankings because I can’t afford to hire someone to do this for me. I really appreciate this blog post because I need all the help I can get and I feel like I’m banging my head against the wall sometimes. I’ve bookmarked it for future reference and will refer to it often. I think I’m going to poke around some of your other blog posts to see if I can get some ideas as well. x Thank YOU! :)
