Hey Nick -

Another one of your "new" fans here. I, at time have been frustrated with Google's secret algorithm, on both the SEO and PPC side of things.

I have started a free trial of the Keyword tool you mentioned in Grandmas guide to SEO, and have followed your advice on how to use these chosen keywords to my advantage. Can't wait to watch the analytics and see how it impacts my traffic.

Currently working on optimizing the rest of my pages.

In answer to your questions "what is your goal?" - 10K is my short term goal. My goal is to build my residuals to at least that high. :)

Thanks again,
Chad

I've also been wondering about that and I think it's because from what Google server the data is coming from. I believe they have serveers for the U.S., Canada, UK, China, etc.

Let's say you're from India and then go to Google.com, it seems you're being directed to the nearest Google server to your IP address and then when you type in a search term Google serves up results more for your area. I believe they're doing this so they can bring more targeted ads for adsense. Because when someone sets up an Adwords ad he has the option to choose which country to show the ads so Google needs to know where the query is coming from and they do it by the computer's IP address. So this means that top 10 results from each Google server differs somewhat from each other.

I'm not from the U.S. so what I do is type in my search in Google and after I get the results I go to the URL bar and type in "&gl=us" where us is the country code. The results refresh and I should see results as if I'm sending the query from the U.S.

I'm still doing some research on this and all that I said are my observations and not 100% accurate as far as I can tell.

It could be. Or it could be that they're a lot more sites competing that have been optimized for the United Kingdom. Really hard to say.

Hey Nick. I can't find the page where I can ask a question so I am posting it here....I have been optimizing a UK website from India. Now when I Google the keywords on www.google.co.in the website shows on number 1 position but when I run a search for the same keywords on www.google.co.uk the website shows at number 5. Do you think this has anything to do with the website being optimized from India.?
