How To Get Traffic From Yahoo Answers

Traffic from Yahoo Answers, I am sure you have heard of this before, right? A lot of experts say that you can get traffic from Yahoo Answers and that is why you should spend a little bit of time writing answers to people questions and providing your website URL in the source box.

However, does this strategy actually work?

It does and it works well. I have been using Yahoo Answers on all of my niche sites and the traffic that I get from is outstanding. You will see in the chart below that I have received 62 visitors from Yahoo Answers in the past month. Also, I left my analytics uncovered in order to give you an idea of how it compares to the other sources of traffic.

Key Points

Bounce Rate Is Lower (Average for site is 69.4%)
Page Per Visit is Highest On Site (Average for site is 1.72)
Time On Site Is Better Than Google

I know what you are thinking and no, I don’t spend a lot of time answering questions on Yahoo Answers. The truth is that for this site, I have only answered 30 questions and I did this more than 5 months ago. Now, I know you may be wondering, so I will tell you right now, I am answering question in the health niche.

30 Answers = 62 Visitors

This may not seem like a lot of traffic, however, you need to keep in mind that I have only done 30 answers. Just think of how much traffic I could get if I answered 5 questions per day, 10 question, or even 20 questions per day? This would resonate to a lot of traffic and I am sure that it would benefit any website on the internet.

With the recent Penguin update that Google made it is difficult for people to concentrate on just getting traffic from Google. As a blog owner that had a few sites hit pretty hard by Google, I am not looking for other ways to get traffic. The reason for this is that I don’t want to rely on just one source to help me pay my bills each month and ensure that my family has something to eat.

Like I said, you can’t count on Google with all the changes they are making and Yahoo Answers and Youtube together would be a great way to increase your traffic to your site in a hurry. Just know that I am not a Yahoo Answers expert. Yes, I get a good amount of traffic but there are probably people out there that know more about it than I do. I am just trying to do what I can to help you get more traffic to your site.

Also, I wanted to make sure you know how I provide answers and why it works so well for me. What you will see in the video below is that I provide a subtle call to action in order to get readers to my site.

Guest blogging is no new tactic within the blogging world. Whether you are a young college student hoping to create an online portfolio for yourself to prepare for the professional world or you are seasoned blogging veteran who has walked the guest posting tightrope many a time, things are always changing online and updated blogging techniques should always be welcome.

Guest blogging is a wonderful way to create a strong online presence for yourself and can be an effective way to drive traffic to your blog. As Google algorithms and Internet values continue to change, so too do the needs and guidelines for quality guest posts. It’s important for those of us writing guest posts to stay in tune with current trends and interests within the blogosphere.

Follow these 3 tips for updated guest posting methods.

1. Contacting Webmasters

One of the most important elements of a strong guest post campaign is your outreach method to webmasters. To become a successful guest poster you have to successfully contact webmasters and convince them you are capable of contributing to their blogs. This can be one of the most difficult aspects (at least for me it certainly is).

It’s hard not to feel like a spammer when you are basically blind emailing people about writing for their blog. In today’s blogosphere it is important that you display your talent and abilities to the webmasters you pitch to. Not every blog that you pitch to write for is going to be intimately related to the area you usually write about.

This is the beauty of guest posting. You get to explore and learn new areas. Demonstrate in your pitch email that you are capable of tackling the subject that blog is concerned with. Send a few article topics and titles that you are interested in writing for them. Provide a few links (not too many!) to posts you have written in the past. It’s also a great idea to get to know the webmaster on social media outlets before you blindly pitch to them.

2. Write Punchier Posts

Another wonderful thing about guest posting is how focused it is on the actual writing. Sometimes blogging to gain traffic can very much feel like just blank and heartless writing. With guest posting, you are writing for someone else and they want the best material you can provide and you want to impress them.

Because so many people have blogs out there, much of the content we write is repetitive or at least familiar. It’s hard (if not impossible) to be totally unique. But you can still be interesting. Try to write guest posts with some personal voice and style in there. You aren’t a robot, so your guest post shouldn’t sound like one.

By writing punchier and more human posts, you will have a better chance of gaining a following. Your readers will recognize that individual voice you have that only you can offer and they will want to hear more of it. That’s the beautiful thing about writing. So, sure, I may just be writing a guest blog about blogging, but I can still make it lively, fun, engaging, and individual. Right?

3. No More “Same Old, Same Old” Titles

Titles are so important—and SO hard. Is that just me? I really struggle with coming up with an alluring, but informative title for my posts. I always seem to find myself falling into the “same old, same old” habit of writing “3 tips for this” and “5 strategies for that”.

There’s nothing wrong with tips articles. In fact, they are some of my (and many other’s) favorite posts. But your title should be interesting and unique. Come up with something that makes it stand out, but also gives your readers a glimpse of what they will be reading. I have a tendency to fault on the informative side for titles. This can be dull sounding and rather forgettable.

However, titles that are all sparkle and no substance can just be misleading. Try to find a comfortable medium. Let your readers know what they can expect, but say it in a way that makes them think, “Wow, I’m interested”.

Are you currently using Youtube as a traffic source? Are you have much luck with it?

Lots of people use Youtube, however, they are leaving most of the traffic on the site because they don’t know the best ways to increase the click through rate to their site. This is what I am going to help you with.

The biggest problem that I have seen lately is not that bloggers are not creating great videos, because most people are doing that right. The biggest problem that I have seen lately is that the blogger isn’t using all the tools they have at their disposal.

In the list below you will see 5 ways to increase your blog traffic from Youtube videos. All of these are easy to implement and they will increase the amount of traffic you get quite a bit in a short amount of time. One recommendation that I have is that you continue to create great Youtube videos and apply the tips below, so that you get your fair share of Youtube traffic.

1. Use Multiple Links

One of the first things you should do in order to increase the amount of traffic you get is to use multiple links. By this I am talking about placing links in the beginning of the video description as well as in the middle and at the end of it. What a lot of bloggers do is place one link to their homepage but what you should do is use several different links so that the person watching the video has an assortment of things they can look at next. Just keep the link count to a maximum of 3 because too many links will just overwhelm the person watching the video.

2. Provide Clickable In Video Links

Did you know that you can place clickable links inside your Youtube videos? This is something new that most people don’t realize. The nice part about having a clickable link is that the person watching the video will see it no matter what. Clickable links work great because you can link to several pages within your blog and you can also ask the person watching the video to click a subscribe button that you place in the video as well.

3. Get More Subscribers

You probably already know this, however, I am going to tell you once more – you need to get more subscribers. The more subscribers that you can get, the more people you will have to see your video right when you post it. Subscribers are the key to lots of views, which will help your video get higher and higher on Youtube’s search engine.

4. Target Long Tail Keywords

My personal recommendation is to target long tail keywords. By targeting long tail keywords you avoid all the competition and shoot to the top of Youtube’s search engine. This is one strategy that I have used countless time for my niche sites and it works great. The only thing you need to remember is that you don’t want to use the same keywords that you are targeting on your site because you don’t want your Youtube video to outrank you.

5. Write Article Along With Video

This is something that I have been doing recently on a few of my niche Youtube channels and it works great. When you write an article and submit it in the description of the video you will rank for many long tail keywords. Another benefit of doing this is that now Google will be able to tell what your video is all about.

As you can see, getting more traffic from Youtube is not impossible. Follow the tricks above and continue to publish new videos and you are bound to get more traffic because of it.
