Some of you may remember my debut Search Engine Land post which looked at the process for buying an iPhone 4 on various UK retailers. The article went down quite well so I’d like to repeat this process for another set of websites to see how they convert visitors into buyers.

I HATE buying shoes.

Once upon a time, numbers like gross circulation mattered a bit more, because the available channels and paths for information were somewhat limited. So by putting yourself visibly in one of them, chances were pretty good that you’d actually be seen, and command a fair bit of someone’s attention, at least for a few moments.

There was a time when an e-book was considered a novel idea. It turned into a gold rush. People throwing stuff into a PDF file, throwing some slick marketing behind it, and basically creating income out of thin air.

Obviously an attractive concept. Then the gold rush mentality took over. People sold a lot of crappy ebooks. People also bought a lot of crappy ebooks. Just look at Clickbank’s Marketplace and you’ll find a LOT of really stupid ebooks – all of them claiming to be the secret to something.

Most of us are so jazzed when we first start blogging that the thought of our blogging spirits ever sagging seems ludicrous.

Sooner or later though, life happens, and our attitude takes a hit.

Maybe our family or friends don’t support our blogging endeavors, or perhaps our traffic and subscriber numbers are still camped out in the basement despite months of hard work. Regardless of the reason, having a stuck-in-the-muck mood  puts the brakes on our creativity and motivation. If we want to achieve our long-term goals and enjoy the journey, we need to take action to put the spring back in our blogging steps.
